Rachel Gilmore ‘like totally’ flirts with Terrorism

"It all started for me with a tip from a government source tucked away in an envelope" - Rachel Gilmore

Canadian independent journalist, formerly with CTV and Global News, Rachel Gilmore, has been reporting on what she deems to be the “far-right” in Canada for several years now. Her works consists of attempting to brand people as “Nazis” and “fascists”, as well as doxxing her targets in hopes of getting them fired from their employment and ostracized from society.

In a recent video published by Gilmore, she explains how she coordinated with a group called “Montreal Antifasciste” to confirm the doxxing of one of her most recent targets. As will be shown in this article, this group’s behaviour goes beyond the typical doxxing of one’s name and activities that is typical of more professional “anti-hate” researchers.

Furthermore, Gilmore admits to working with “government sources” who she claims physically handed her information about private Canadian citizens in order to publish hit pieces on them with the intent of terminating their employment and putting political pressure on local businesses.

Free Speech Watch will look into this concerning triangle of state actors, media personalities, and potentially criminal actors on the street level. All of this serves to chill free speech of political dissidents through intimidation, economic attrition, and even extensive vandalism committed at people’s homes in the situation of this particular Antifa group.

The glaring problem with the group “Montreal Antifasciste” is that they openly publish the home addresses of their targets on their website. In one such case, a target of theirs had their home severely vandalized by “unknown” culprits. Free Speech Watch has independently confirmed that the home address published on their website is the same house that was vandalized.

Other images are from the Frontenac Active Club Telegram: "In the early hours of September 4th, under the cover of darkness, antifa cowards set about vandalizing a young member's family home, slashing the tires on his car, smashing its windows and spray painting it."

In Canada, terrorism is legally defined as:

“an act or omission, inside or outside the country, committed for a political, religious, or ideological purpose, intended to intimidate the public regarding its security or compel a government to do/refrain from doing an act. It must intentionally cause death, serious bodily harm, endanger life, or cause severe disruption to public, private, or critical infrastructure.”

The actions of Montreal Antifasciste may or may not fall short of terrorism under this definition, though they could be described as Ideologically Motivated Violent Extremists (IMVEs), a newer classification of extremists that the Canadian government has used to classify certain citizens and groups.

The doxxing of their targets’ home addresses could have serious legal consequences, including criminal charges such as criminal harassment or counseling or being a party to mischief/vandalism. Civil liabilities could also be claimed from these doxxes. This analysis also gives the benefit of the doubt that Montreal Antifasciste, who published this particular home address, weren’t directly involved or directly counselling the mischief to occur, which is currently unprovable.

Rachel Gilmore, writing this recent article with the independent online “news” company, The Tyee, claimed to collaborate with the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) as well. CAHN has repeatedly sourced their journalistic material from an anonymous X account “@TonyYVCE“, who, as recently as a few days ago (Feb 28 2026), is seen posting an image with the message “Kill your local Nazi” with an added tag #Antifa.

On September 22, 2025, US President Trump issued an Executive Order purporting to designate “Antifa” as a “domestic terrorist organization.” Although this designation has not come to pass, Antifa groups globally have been repeatedly connected to organized mischief, violence, murder and terrorism. In February 2026, French police arrested nine suspects in connection with the death of 23-year-old right-wing activist Quentin Deranque after he was mobbed and beaten to death by Antifa. This is who Rachel Gilmore and the Canadian Anti-Hate Network are aligning with, whether they themselves endorse violence or not.

Board member of CAHN, and lawyer, Richard Warman, attempted to sue journalist Jonathan Kay in 2022 for connecting the activities of CAHN to the violent Antifa network. This lawsuit failed, and the judge ruled “CAHN did in fact assist Antifa and that the movement has been violent.”

Rachel Gilmore states in her recent video, where she explains how she doxxed one of her targets as working as a coach at a gym; “It all started for me with a tip from a government source tucked away in an envelope that was literally slid across a table.” This appears to be Gilmore stating that a government official, or someone with access to government sources, handed her information on a private citizen in order to use the media to attack their livelihood over political opinions.

Evan Balgord, Executive Director of CAHN, has complained to news outlet The Hill Times: “We’re looking at the bad guys and monitoring activities and communications online so people can be aware, and they can be countered… I’m working very hard to fill that gap, but the fact that there’s nothing for us to even apply for has put us in a really tough spot,”

CAHN is attempting to renew their government funding as one of their current sources of government funding is expiring on March 31st, 2026.

Gilmore claims that Balgord complained to her about the current government not renewing grants for “anti-hate” research, which Balgord suggested to the Hill Times was due to one recipient of government “anti-hate” funding being caught posting antisemitic tirades on social media.

These people seem to be organizing together to create a boogeyman in order to present justification to the government that they should have their “anti-hate” grant funding renewed. This will allow them to continue to target and endanger Canadian citizens for exercising their freedom of speech with the help of taxpayers’ money. Those who value their freedom of speech must organize, because the enemies of free speech certainly are.
